It depends on the child and the environment he is subjected to. Many develop career inspiration by the time they enter 6-7 std and find one subject more interesting then the other or a particular stream more suitable then the other. Some develop their interest in much younger age when they starts acting as a particular professional in make belief plays, and some make a decision much later in life when they get electives and they have to decide finally what will be the most suitable option for them.
