IF STUDENT is clear on the course he or she wants to pursue…depending on the marks obtained and cut offs of particular college, fees structure, distance and mode travel and ranking of the college plays a major role.
sometimes prestigious institutes itself play important role..irrespective of course…getting admission in those colleges is itself an honour EG: IITs, AIIMS.

I have always felt that choosing a right college for a good education and bright career is like finding the best fit or brand that suits us much better and still make us feel comfortable. But alas; the importance that is given to make us look sophisticated in public is not given to make a choice in choosing the right fit for our education and career.

One who is very keen on having the best of both worlds, i believe will try also to find the best college that fits him/her. it is of my opinion that one who needs to find the right college will go through these 3 steps.

      1. Coordination = Here the individual tries to analyse his/her strengths (more or less like SWOT Analysis). Once done, the individual tries to find out about various choice of colleges available through various sources like senior interactions, Day Tours, Faculty Session & Guidance, Public Opinion, Ratings & Reviews, Parents’ Choice, Peer Group Choices, College popularity and so on and so forth. This whole analysis leads to the 2nd step.
      2. Combination = Now the individual will have enough analysis to go over to make his/her SWOT Analysis and his findings to put together to understand where the choice of his/her college stands or what college would be best fit as per the individual’s requirements and availabilities and capabilities all 3 together included. This leads to the last step.
      3. Culmination = Now the individual will have the list of top 3 or 5 or may be 7 even at times, the list of best colleges according to the above steps the individual has gone through. Now comes the aspect of “Fees and Scholarships” (even though these 2 play an important role in the previous steps too, i personally feel that an individual who has set his/hers focus and goals on finding the best fit of college for future career and growth will try and find a way to overcome it until the last minute) which play a key role in eliminating or holding the choice of college.

Therefore to summarise on the whole, “Seekers are the Finders and Finders will be the Keepers of the future.”

These is always a confusion in choosing collages or any educational institutions according to our mindset.Every college provides a counselling session before we take admissions.Best thing is we need to enquire senior students who are already studying there ,to understand better.Later in counselling sessions make a list of questionnaire and try to listen and with good interaction ,helps us to know which college is suitable .
